The Deaf Development Program moved into our new office just about three weeks ago and I thought we would have an official blessing—very important to the Buddhist people—later in August. But already our staff has started hearing spirit voices and seeing ghost shadows on the stairways so I thought we'd better do the blessing now. Khmer people are very superstitious, and a blessing like this will allay their fears. [The first ten photographs were taken by Jim and Roberta McLaughlin and by Kevin Conroy.]
