USA Visitors

29 December 2006

This was the week for visitors to the Deaf Development Program! First, Kentaro Hayase came from Japan to teach film making. Then a group of German friends came to visit the DDP hostel. And at the end of the week, a group of American deaf people paid a quick visit to Phnom Penh.

Don Rosenkjar (seated, gray shirt) and I have known each other for twenty years or more, from the days when we would attend meetings of the International Catholic Deaf Association together when I was living in the United States. Don has long been interested in working with deaf people in other countries and his friends have a similar interest. They visited some deaf schools in Vietnam and then came to Cambodia. They only had one day in Phnom Penh, but we managed to eat lunch together before they headed for the airport and their flight back home.
