Ossi at DDP Office
11-14 March 2008

The Project Coordinator from the Finnish Association of the Deaf was Mr. Ossi Oinonen.  He started his work officially with a visit to the Deaf Development Programme offices for a DDP staff meeting, and then returned to DDP again later in the week.

Ossi with Deth Bunthok Ossi Oinonen had met various DDP staff at the meetings at the Catholic Relief Services offices, but now he had a chance to visit Deth Bunthok and other DDP staff in their own work areas.
Ossi in Year 2 classroom Here Ossi visits the Year 2 classroom of Lyka just before the end of the school day.
A sign language class One of the activities funded by FAD is the teaching of sign language to hearing people.  That is part of the interpreting project.  This is one of the two sign language classes with its two deaf teachers.
Here Samath, a deaf sign language researcher, also takes on another role as a sign language teacher.  For these classes, Samath and the other teachers use sign language handbooks Samath helped to develop.
