Workshop on Buddhist Morality: Kampotm
29 March 2012

Workshops: Phnom Penh  |  Kampong Cham  |  Kampot

The third workshop on morality was held for our students in Kampot Province. The number of students is small there and the classrooms are large so we were able to use our own rooms for today's session.

Whenever Cambodians travel in the morning, they MUST stop for breakfast along the way. Probably it is a cultural practice because they must eat rice for breakfast, and if they get up before the rest of the family, they don't cook the rice for just themselves.
Stopping for breakfast
We used one of our DDP classrooms in a government school in Kampot for the workshop, and these students put out some foam pads for seating.
Preparing the classroom
The same two monks repeated their presentations today for the third time. This was the smallest of the three groups they spoke to.

The organizers provided sandwiches for the students at break time.

When the monks left the school to eat their early lunch, Charlie Dittmeier spoke to the students about Christian moral values.

Emphasizing values that are found in a family, Charlie had some of the students come forward to role play members of a family and illustrate the values.
Interacting with the students
One young woman put a work activity paper on the wall of the classroom.

At the end of the day, before the return drive (three hours) to Phnom Penh, we had a group photo.
