There really is no deaf community in Cambodia, just small groups of deaf people in two or three towns. Phnom Penh would be the largest group of deaf people, probably about 150 or so. The Deaf Development Program is trying to organize activities in different towns to bring deaf people together so that they can meet each other and learn what it's like to be part of the deaf world together. Today was the second event organized in Phnom Penh and about 100 deaf people showed up. |
