On April 29-30, the Ministry of Education held a workshop for a final review of the proposed law on education of children with disabilities. The workshop was in Kampong Cham province and was attended by about 75 people from around the country. It was interesting that this workshop had very few foreigners--a good sign--compared to similar workshops nine years when Charlie first came to Cambodia.
A familiar face from the Ministry of Education was Un Siren who has worked in the Special Education Department for many years. He formerly was a member of the Sign Language Committee set up by the Disability Action Council.
