FAD in Cambodia / Day 2 |
A large part of Nanny's work in Cambodia is going over accounts with Thary, the DDP accountant. Getting funding from international donors is a necessity but it is also complicated because of all the bookkeeping, exchange rate differences, working in euros and dollars, and the long distance communications.
Stephanie Linder (left) and Celina Campas (3rd left), two DDP advisors, have been preparing four deaf staff of DDP to teach sign language to hearing people in a new project.
We advertized through the NGO network and through all our deaf sector contacts about the new sign language class DDP is offering. About 25 people signed up; more than 40 showed up for the first class! The class is held on a third-floor porch of the DDP office. |
