Sign Language Meeting in Hong Kong
16 June 2005

The Deaf Development Program has four sign language researchers collecting, recording, and transcribing the sign language of Cambodia that has developed over the last ten years. Some of our work is funded by the Finnish Association of the Deaf and Maryknoll. Another big part of the work is funded by the Nippon Foundation.

Math Seila is the DDP researcher who was selected to attend the Asian regional meeting of the four countries involved in the project to make small dictionaries of practical sign language.

Leaving Phnom Penh for Hong Kong Math Seila (center) was accompanied to the Phnom Penh airport by his younger sister and mother (left). Traveling with Seila were Justin Smith and Liza Clews.
